Disney now has control over all future Indiana Jones movies

Disney signs deal for complete rights to Indiana Jones

Disney has signed a deal with Paramount for control over all future Indiana Jones films, reports The Hollywood Reporter.

Paramount retains rights to the first four films and ‘will receive a financial participation on any future films that are produced and released.’

The first four adventure films in the franchise were all directed by Steven Spielberg and distributed by Paramount and this deal paves the way for a new installment in the franchise, although there has been no official news about a fifth film.

The last film in the franchise, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, grossed $786.6 million at the worldwide box office.
