Disney’s The Jungle Book tops UK box office

Disney’s The Jungle Book has debuted at number one at the UK box office with an estimated £9.5m.

The result sees the film become the third biggest opening this year following only Batman vs Superman and Deadpool.

Elsewhere, The Jungle Book enjoyed the second largest US April opening in history with a debut of $103.6m. Globally the film currently stands at $240m.

This weekend saw Disney also take second place at the UK box office with Zootropolis.
