DK Books celebrates Marvel’s female super heroes with Orbital Comics gallery event

Publishers DK Books has partnered with Orbital Comics for a comic book shop takeover celebrating International Women’s Day and the theatrical release of Captain Marvel.

DK’s recently published Marvel Fearless and Fantastic! Female Super Heroes Save the World will take over the London-based shop with a gallery, showcasing the comic artwork as it appears in the book.

A special in-store launch event celebrating the book and gallery will take place on March 9th.

The new title, written by Sam Maggs and published by DK, profiles dozens of aspirational female comic book characters, all of whom use their intelligence, strength and courage to help other and save the day.

“What struck us when we published Marvel Fearless and Fantastic was that the heroes possessed super powers that every woman and girl can relate to and attain: daring, compassion, determination and curiosity,” said Julie Ferris, DK’s licensing publisher.

“The stunning artworks in the book speak to these powers, and we are delighted to partner with Orbital Comics to showcase and celebrate these inspirational Super Heroes in their gallery space.”

Author, Sam Maggs, added: “What I loved about working on Marvel Fearless and Fantastic was learning about all of their incredible females within the Marvel universe. This gallery showcases just some of the most daring, compassionate and determined Super Heroes that we can all be inspired by.”

The takeover launched on March 1st and runs until March 31st this year, with a special in-store event taking place on March 9th at Orbital Comics on Great Newport Street, London.
