Dolce & Gabbana to design hand-painted fridges for Smeg

Italian fashion house Dolce & Gabbana is taking its iconic designs to a line of fridges.

In a new collaboration with Italian appliances brand Smeg; the company will produce 100 limited edition FAB28 refrigerators, which have all been hand-painted by artists commissioned by the fashion brand.

Designer Domenico Dolce said: “Every piece is unique, but they all tell a story consistent with our brand identity,” reports Vogue.

“They might be kitchen appliances, but there’s something that is immediately identifiable as Dolce & Gabbana, from the Sicilian barrows to the Trinacria symbol to the marionettes to the Italian lemons and fruits.”

The collection will make its debut on April 14th during Salone del Mobile in Milan, with prices starting from €30,000 or $34,140.
