Scotland’s very first regional Cluedo board is arriving in the form of Cluedo Edinburgh.
After the success of last year’s London board, Winning Moves selected Edinburgh ahead of nine others to get its own board.
The company is making an appeal to the Scottish public to put forward ideas on what characters should fill the board and involvement from the public is something Winning Moves wants to bring to Cluedo boards in the future.
“Public involvement is something we want to carry on through to future Cluedo boards, absolutely,” 6 Star PR’s Graham Barnes told ToyNews.
“The characters and rooms are a blank canvas. The zoo, Holyrood, football clubs, it really could be anything. With Edinburgh, we’re sure that the whole of Scotland and beyond will pitch in with ideas. People may not live there, but ex-pats and tourists will want to get involved.”
A one-week public email vote line is being set up from 00.01am Friday and anyone can send their suggestions for what to fill the board with..
“The characters will reflect the essence of Edinburgh. Potential murder settings could be The Castle or Holyrood," said Cluedo manager at Winning Moves, Dan Taylor.
"The board is a blank canvas at the moment. We would like to hear from the great Scottish public – and beyond bearing in mind its world renown – on how this board should look. We are extremely excited about – and honoured at – producing it. A big congratulations to Edinburgh for bumping off the opposition!”
With the London board already a success and plans underway to get the public involved in Edinburgh, Barnes told ToyNews that Edinburgh wont be last of Cluedo’s region-specific boards.
Barnes added: “For 2013, we’re just doing Edinburgh but we’re quite sure of doing more regional boards for the future."
The game will feature six brand new characters and nine themed locations whilst the weapons remain the same.
“This really is great news for Edinburgh as the buzz around choosing the characters and the launch of the game will be a welcome reminder to potential visitors everywhere that Edinburgh really is a world class tourist destination,” added Cllr Frank Ross, Edinburgh City Council’s convener of the economy committee.
Cluedo: Edinburgh Edition will be available from November and those wanting to suggest destinations and characters can start sending from Friday to email@example.com.
