Egmont bags rights to Temple Run fiction series and activity books

Egmont Publishing has inked a deal with Imangi Studios for global rights to a fiction series and activity books based on the mobile game series, Temple Run.

Egmont UK, Egmont USA and Hardie Grant Egmont (Australia) will simultaneously launch the publishing programme this autumn.

Publishing will kick off in all three territories this August, with the first two titles in the fiction series Run for Your Life.

The US and UK will also publish an activity title in August and the UK will publish two more titles in the fiction series in November, which the US and Australia will release in early 2015.

Egmont’s new ‘Downloaded’ activity format, designed with curved edges and printed the same size as a tablet device, will include exclusive Temple Run info, character profiles, mazes, brain teasers, code breakers and free-drawing, plus four fold-out pages and four sticker pages.

The Run for Your Life multiple storyline fiction series, meanwhile, will be full of obstacles, threats and ‘gut-twisting’ decisions to make. The first two titles will be Jungle Trek and Doom Lagoon, and will feature favourite characters from the series including Guy Dangerous and Scarlett Fox.

"Playing Temple Run is an exhilarating experience, and our formats and content are as cool, fast paced and exciting as the game itself," said Sarah Bates, publishing director for licensed character books at Egmont UK. "Our publishing offers a fantastic opportunity for fans to delve deeper into the world and characters of Temple Run."
