Elton John to pen The Devil Wears Prada musical

The Devil Wears Prada is heading to Broadway, which will see Sir Elton John and Paul Rudnick pen the new musical adaptation of the book and film.

Producer Kevin McCollum, who revealed the news, is working with Fox Stage Productions and Rocket Entertainment to bring the famous film to the stage.

Bob Cohen of Fox Stage Productions and Kevin McCollum, said: "To bring The Devil Wears Prada to the stage, we knew we needed to find artists as inimitable as the characters in the story," reports The Hollywood Reporter.

"We needed artists whose work has run the gamut, from music and publishing to drama and fashion. We could think of only two names: Elton John and Paul Rudnick. That’s all."

The musical will be adapted from the novel by Lauren Weisberger and hit 2006 film, which starred Meryl Streep as the ruthless editor and Anne Hathaway who played the role of an aspiring journalist.
