Emaar Entertainment and Discovery Channel team for Shark Week interactive exhibit

Emaar Entertainment and Discovery Consumer Products have teamed to open a first-of-its-kind Discovery Channel Shark Week exhibit.

Housed at the Dubai Aquariam and Underwater Zoo, the exhibition has been developed in association with OSN, the region’s leading pay TV network and Discovery’s licensing arm, Discovery Communications.

Billed as the world’s first official Discovery Channel Shark Week experience, the exhibition brings the TV franchise to life by offering guests a glimpse into the world of sharks through an interactive experience.

Paul Hamilton, general manager and curator of Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo, said: “At Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo, we are passionate about educating the public on these incredible and often misunderstood creatures.

“The Discovery Channel Shark Week exhibit invites visitors in the world of sharks in an innovative way that educates and entertains.”

“Through this latest phase of our partnership with Emaar Entertainment, we have created an innovative and interactive exhibition that will bring entertaining and educational aspects of Shark Week to life for our MENA audiences like never before.”

Themed around a cage dive with Great White Sharks, guests will be able to interact with the creatures while learning about their biology.

To complement the launch, Discovery Consumer Products and Dubai Aquarium have also joined forces to produce a documentary, following the construction of the exhibition as well as detailing the zoo’s shark conservation projects.
