Emojis to get life of their own with web and TV series from Saban

They have been used to convey the in-expressible emotions of the youth for a generation.

Now, the humble emoji is to be given a life of its own as Saban Brands and Jakks Pacific partner to launch Emojiville.

The new multiplatform property will first kick off as an original web series, scheduled to launch this autumn.

Saban Brands then intends to develop a TV show for the children’s entertainment brand, following the adventures of five emoji friends.

Stream Daily reports that Jakks Pacific, meanwhile will develop a consumer products and collectible toy line as well as a line of technology products for the property.

Saban will lead the content, distribution, marketing, promotion and other licensing activities for Emojiville.
