Endemol Shine reveals The Island mobile game

Endemol Shine Group has announced a new game launching on iOS and Android based on its hit show The Island with Bear Grylls.

In the new mobile game, players must lead 20 characters through the trials and tribulations of life on a desert island. Players are also tasked with completing daily tasks and challenges designed to test their mettle – and mirror the unrelenting conditions of the island. The aim of the game, ultimately, is to survive.

“The Island environment lends itself perfectly to the survival simulation genre and provides a great setting for a fun and engaging game for both fans of the show and beyond," said Nick Hall, digital director at Endemol Shine UK.

"Players get a real taste of the challenges that the island can throw at inhabitants as they create and nurture their own world, striving to lead their islanders to victory.”

The Island: Survival Challenge features inspiration, commentary and tips from world-renowned survival expert Bear Grylls and will be available in multiple territories. The game is free to download with in-app purchases available.

The BAFTA-award winning show, which the game is based on is a co-production from Shine TV and Bear Grylls Ventures. It airs on Channel 4, Mondays at 9pm.
