2009 Children's BAFTA nominees revealed

Ben & Holly, Ben 10, Dora, Grandpa In My Pocket and Bookaboo among those up for accolades.

The British Academy of Film and Television Arts has revealed the nominations for the 2009 EA British Academy Children's Awards.

Taking place on Sunday November 29th at the London Hilton, Park Lane, London, the awards will be hosted by children's TV presenters Dick and Dom.

The nominations comprise all aspects of children's entertainment: Animation, Channel of the Year, Drama, Entertainment, Factual, Feature Film, Independent Production Company, Interactive, International, Learning - Primary, Learning - Secondary, Pre-school Animation, Pre-school Live Action, Presenter, Short Form, Video Game and Writer.

Several big name brands in the licensing industry are up for awards.

Chop Socky Chooks (Aardman) and Horrid Henry (Novel Entertainment) are nominated in the Animation category; Astley Baker Davies, The Foundation and Kindle Entertainment will fight it out for Independent Production Company; and Ben 10 Alien Force (Cartoon Network) and Dora the Explorer (Nickelodeon) are nominated in the International sector, along with The Penguins of Madagascar (Dreamworks) and Phineas and Ferb (Disney).

E1 and Astley Baker Davies could be in for a bumper haul: Ben & Holly's Little Kingdom and Peppa Pig are nominated in the Pre-school Animation category, along with Humf (King Rollo) and Little Princess: A Merry Little Christmas (Illuminated Film Company).

Meanwhile, Bookaboo (Happy Films), Grandpa In My Pocket (Adastra) and In The Night Garden (Ragdoll) will be contesting the Pre-school Live Action category.

In addition, this year's awards also welcome back the BAFTA Kids' Vote, where children choose their favourite film, television programme, website and video game.
