4Kids Entertainment is growing its WordWorld brand, appointing France Télévisions Distribution as licensing agent for France.
The series - Le Monde des Mots - is due to broadcast in the territory on France 5 as a new English language learning concept. It will aim to integrate the English and French languages in speech and text.
"WordWorld is very much a one of a kind property, which will really stand out among the other pre-school brands on the French market," said Sandra Vauthier-Cellier, MD of 4Kids. "We anticipate important synergies and maximisation of the franchise throughout the country with the licensing and event departments of France Télévisions Distribution."
WordWorld is already a hit in the US - where it has aired on PBS since 2007 - with licensing deals in place for construction toys, arts and crafts, DVDs, publishing, party goods and software.
