1990s doll line Quints is making a comeback, with 4Kids Entertainment being named as the worldwide licensing agent for the toy brand.
When originally introduced by Tyco Toys (which was ultimately acquired by Mattel), the Quints were an innovative series of play-sets, clothing and environments designed for five siblings: three girls and two boys.
Debuting in 1990, the line topped the best selling doll list in that year in the US market. Quints were equally successful across Europe, Latin America and Asia, topping the best seller lists in over 15 countries by 1991.
4Kids is now seeking a global master toy partner to produce the 21st Century version of Quints.
"Quints came along like a thunderbolt," said Alfred Kahn, chairman and CEO of 4Kids Entertainment. "Given that the original Quints fans are now mothers themselves, we have a whole new generation of girls who will love the updated Quints as passionately as their mothers did in the early 1990s."
