4Kids Entertainment has signed up to become the worldwide licensing agent for Karito Kids, a line of award winning multi-cultural dolls and books.
The brand is aimed at giving kids first-hand experience of the meaning of giving and understanding cultural diversity. Karito Kids takes its name from the Esperanto language, with the line made up of six 11 year-old girls - Ling, Lulu, Zoe, Gia, Pita and Piper - from around the world who represent unique ethnic backgrounds.
Each Kid comes with their own illustrated mystery adventure book set in their home country.
4Kids will now look to expand the brand into new categories with a worldwide licensing drive.
"Karito Kids is a beautifully sculpted, ethnically correct doll line," commented Carlin West, executive VP of product acquisitions and development at 4Kids. "We always look to bring properties to market that become category leaders.
"With Karito Kids well-positioned to bring a fresh approach to the doll aisle by enabling children to be charitable, we look to expand the brand and its global message of charity and caring through a targeted licensing programme."
