4Kids Entertainment is continuing to add to its catalogue, signing up WordWorld, a multimedia pre-school property currently airing on PBS Kids in the US.
The Emmy award winning 3D animated series aims to bring words to life by embedding them into the objects they represent, resulting in easier word recognition for children.
The series incorporates television, learning products and interactive resources to encourage literacy. 4Kids will aim to build a licensing programme across a variety of product categories, highlighting the unique focus on word play for pre-schoolers.
"Its critical praise, growing popularity among parents and children, along with its distinct visually educational and entertaining style makes this property extremely desirable for licensors and retailers," said Al Kahn, chairman and CEO of 4Kids.
Don Moody, CEO and creator of WordWorld, added: "This strategic alliance will deliver an unprecedented consumer products program in the children's literacy space."
