Aardman eyeing Latin America

New distribution agency hired to boost profile of firm's catalogue in the region.

Aardman International is looking to significantly expand its presence in the Latin American market, appointing Spiral International as its distribution agency in the region.

Spiral will represent all of Aardman's portfolio across free TV, DVD and digital rights in Latin America and will be looking to start securing deals at NATPE 2008 later this month.

Shaun the Sheep will be presented to Latin American buyers for the first time at the show - which takes place in Las Vegas - while Spiral will also be pre-selling Wallace and Gromit special Trouble At' Mill.

"Since the launch of Aardman's dedicated distribution division, Latin American remains an unchartered territory so this will be the first time that our diverse catalogue will be officially presented to buyers across the region," said Alix Wiseman, head of sales at Aardman International.

"With the expertise offered by Spiral's team, we have every confidence that they will be successful in securing key deals across the region."
