Aardman reveals extended specials for Timmy Time

Two Timmy Time specials are due to appear later this year, Aardman Animations has confirmed at MIPTV.

Both half hour episodes are due to be delivered in October - the first sees Timmy and his friends snowed in at the nursery over the winter holidays, while the second follows the characters to the beach for their first outing.

Aardman has created 78 ten-minute episodes of Timmy Time to date and has sold the series to over 160 broadcasters worldwide.

"We're very excited about creating these two specials for Timmy Time," said Miles Bullough, head of broadcast at Aardman. "It's the perfect time to make them as we come to a close on the third series and we'll be able to provide our broadcast partners with holiday specials for winter 2011 and summer 2012.

"Jackie Cockle has devised the stories for the two episodes and we'll be retaining the same BAFTA-winning team that have worked on the series so far, so we can't wait to see the end results."
