Aardman, Sony and Bin Weevils launch pop video competition

Four children will create the official pop video for debut album Bin Tunes.

Aardman Animation, Sony Music and BinWeevils.com are seeking the UK's best young pop video animator. 

Bin Weevil's Got Talent, dubbed "the new Britain's Got Talent", aims to uncover four children to create the official pop video for the Bin Weevils debut album, ‘Bin Tunes’, released by Sony Music on July 29th.

BinWeevils.com, the BAFTA award-winning social website, will allow the winners to visit the famous Aardman Animations studio in Bristol, where such characters as Shaun the Sheep, Morph and Wallace & Gromit were created. 

There, they will work with a professional director to create a unique pop video, which will be seen by up to two million children on BinWeevils.com.

Entrants are invited to submit a short pop video clip, featuring Bin Weevils characters, using the ‘Animate It!’ software which was created by Kudlian Software, in association with Aardman Animations.

A statement read: "This innovative competition is the latest in the making of the Bin Weevils album, possibly the most interactive record ever made. 

"Bin Weevils users have contributed to some of the album’s lyrics, voted on the best songs and helped to choose the album artwork. Kids were also auditioned to sing on the album."
