Aardman ties with Animal Planet

Short claymation films created to demonstrate how everyone can be more environmentally friendly.

The Animal Planet channel is launching its new initiative – Animals Save the Planet – this weekend, teaming up with Aardman Animations for a series of short claymation films.

The series of animated short films feature tips from animals on how to live an eco-friendly lifestyle. The ten films – which run from 20 to 40 seconds in length – feature animals in their own habitats, demonstrating how everyone can make a difference by practicing a greener lifestyle. They can be seen on Animal Planet in the UK from Saturday March 1st.

It is thought that more than 200 million homes across the UK, Europe, Asia, Latin America, the Middle East and Africa will see the films – narrated by comedian Dawn French - over the coming weeks across the network.

“These programming shorts bring to life what is at the very core of the Animal Planet brand, which is connecting viewers to the natural world through captivating characters and stories that inform, entertain and celebrate the planet,” said Phillip Luff, senior VP and general manager at Animal Planet International.

Animal Planet is one of the world’s largest animal entertainment brands, reaching 300 million households in more than 160 countries worldwide, with programming customised in 24 languages.
