Abbey Home Media reveals Milkshake tie up

Firm to produce a range of children's DVDs after teaming up with Five.

Abbey Home Media Group has sealed a joint venture with Channel Five for a range of children's DVDs and audio titles to promote the Milkshake programming block.

Two DVDs are already available - Music Box-Bop Box, which includes over two hours of nursery rhymes and pre-school songs, and Milkshake Gold, which offers over two hours of entertainment and features 14 characters from the block's line-up. These include Thomas & Friends, Little Princess, Roary the Racing Car, Mr Men, Sesame Street's Bert and Ernie, Harry and his Bucketful of Dinosaurs and Fifi and the Flowertots.

Each episode is introduced by the Milkshake presenters, with DVD extras including dance routines and theme tunes.

"Together our aim was to produce the best compilation DVDs of children's shows that will keep both boys and girls entertained at any time of the day," said Anne Miles, MD of Abbey Home Media Group. "We are very much looking forward to further releases with Milkshake in the future."

Jessica Symons, commissioning editor of children's at Five, added: "The partnership with Abbey Home Media reflects the ambitions of Channel 5 to develop Milkshake into an all encompassing brand on air and off air."
