Activision becomes master video game licensee for SpongeBob SquarePants

Agreement with Nickelodeon includes launch of new title Plankton's Robotic Revenge

Nickelodeon and Activision have agreed a new global multi-year agreement to create and publish video games based on SpongeBob SquarePants.

The first game to be released as part of the deal is SpongeBob SquarePants: Plankton's Robotic Revenge which arrives to Xbox 360, PS3, Wii U, Wii, 3DS and DS on October 22nd.

The co-op game will see gamers play as SpongeBob, Patrick, Squidward, Sandy Cheeks or Mr Krabs as they search for the keys to the safe which holds the famous Krabby Patty formula. 

"We're excited to expand our relationship with Activision for brand new SpongeBob games," said SVP of entertainment products at Nickelodeon Consumer Products.

"Plankton's Robotic Revenge captures the fun and excitement of SpongeBob and his pals, and gives fans a new way to experience the under the sea adventures of Bikini Bottom."
