Al Jazeera has bought 12 episodes of a new kids show from Spanish cartoon company Cromosoma to air on its children's channel.

As reported by C21 Media, Tom follows a young dinosaur around the globe in his search for adventure. Each episode will introduce JCC's audience to famous Western countries and towns.

The deal is the latest addition to Cromosoma's output deal with JCC, which previously teamed up with the Barcelona-based company for The Triplets, Juanito Jones, Miniman and The Baby Triplets.

Both firms have worked to adapt Tom and bring it in line with Arab culture and social standards. However, select episodes have been excluded due to Cromosoma's need to "preserve the integrity" of the property.

Al Jazeera said that Cromosoma was chosen to provide its younger audience with content aimed at enabling learning, understanding and respect for cultural diversity.
