French film firm Gaumont is to return to TV production after eight years away following its purchase of animation company Alphanim.
According to C21 Media, full details of the deal will be announced later this week. The site reported that Alphanim founder and CEO Christian Davin said that the partnership would allow his company "to establish synergies with Gaumont, for instance, in the theatrical business, in producing more animated feature films".
Davin also said he would be looking to expand into producing more mutli-platform content, as well as enhancing its licensing and distribution activities.
Alphanim programme highlights include Galactik Football, Delta State and Robotboy.
