Alvin and The Chipmunks is returning to TV in the form of a new CG-animated series.
Brand management company PGS Entertainment stated that Alvinnn!!! and The Chipmunks will air on more than 70 Nickelodeon channels, excluding North America and Brazil.
Alvinnn!!! and The Chipmunks has been commissioned for 104 11 minute episodes across two seasons, the first of which will air in early 2015.
“Alvinnn!!! and The Chipmunks is a property loved by fans around the world so we’re delighted to bring this re-imagined series to a whole new generation of kids,” said Jules Borkent, SVP, global acquisitions and international programming, Nickelodeon, Viacom International Media Networks.
“The new franchise will feature the fun-filled adventures of the Chipmunks and complement Nickelodeon’s existing line-up of funny, smart and entertaining kids’ content airing internationally.”

The new series will see the franchise return to television after 20 years away.
More recently, the Chipmunks have been seen in cinemas in Alvin and The Chipmunks, Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel and Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked. A fourth film is due for release in December 2015.
