Popular kids’ property Angelina Ballerina is dancing its way into UK theatres for its first ever live musical stage show.

Nick Brooke Ltd and BOS Productions will work on Angelina Ballerina: The Mousical, who have both partnered with children’s entertainment provider Hit Entertainment.

The tour launches this week and it will visit 24 theatres nationwide over the coming weeks.

Based on the award-winning children’s book series by author Katharine Holabird and illustrator Helen Craig, Angelina Ballerina: The Mousical will see Angelina perform live on stage in a singing and dancing show for kids.

The stage show will receive extensive marketing and PR support, including an initiative where local dance schools from each touring region will be invited to enter the ‘Mousical Draw’ to win the chance to take part in the live show.

The UK Mousical follows on from the acclaimed US musical stage show, which launched in New York City in autumn 2010 and continues to run today.

David King, group director of live events at Hit Entertainment, said: “Following Angelina’s success on Broadway, we are really pleased to partner with Nick Brooke and Oliver Royds from BOS Productions Ltd to bring this hugely popular brand to life through its first ever UK musical stage show.

“They have developed a high quality, engaging and hugely enjoyable musical that offers fans an exciting and invigorating way to learn new things about Angelina.”

Nick Brooke added: “Oliver and I are delighted to have been granted the licence to produce Angelina Ballerina: The Mousical. It promises to be a truly theatrical event to be enjoyed by both children and adults nationwide.”

Angelina Ballerina currently airs on TV on Five Milkshake and Nick Jr in the UK.
