APPAREL MONTH: 4Kids praises young fashion talent

Firm ties with RTI and New York Zero for special Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles competition.

To help mark the 25th anniversary of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, 4Kids Entertainment has teamed with RTI's licensing department, the Istituto Marangoni and fashion brand New York Zero to create a special competition.

Open to students of the Istituto Marangoni in Milan, the project involves the design and creation of a line of clothing for men and women inspired by the Turtles.

Each item - two sweatshirts, one long sleeved shirt, one short sleeved t-shirt and one accessory - must be designed in full colour, while the students must also design labels and ideas for the packaging.

The designs will be judged and the winner selected by a panel of experts from the fashion, cartoon and television industries.

The winner will have the chance to have their name appear on a limited series apparel collection, produced by fashion brand New York Zero.

"We are very pleased to bring together these prestigious partners to create a competition for fashion students," said Sandra Vauthier-Cellier, MD of 4Kids. "The Turtles present and interesting challenge for the fashion conscious and we're pleased that the project will reward a highly talented individual with a prize and a great opportunity to be associated with the New York Zero fashion brand."
