Hit Entertainment has tied up with Disney Channel Latin America to produce 52 new episodes of the award winning series, Art Attack.
Production for the new series will start in Argentina and will be localised for the Latin American market, featuring new art projects and using art styles and materials popular in the region.
The agreement marks the first time that Art Attack will be produced outside of the UK.
Art Attack first began in the UK in 1989 and has been seen in 32 different countries around the world, including six non-English speaking, localised versions.
The original UK production - still the longest running series on CITV - was hosted by Neil Buchanan and features do it yourself art projects, with the aim being to prove that art can be fun even if you have no formal training.
"Art Attack is an award winning, iconic series that speaks to the inner artist in everyone and helps build self-esteem through self expression," said Rodrigo Piza, VP broadcast Canada, Latin America and Hispanic US and live events and sponsorships, Latin America for Hit. "We look forward to working closely with the Disney Channel in Argentina to produce the new versions of the show."
A dubbed version of the series has aired in the region on Disney Channel Latin America since 2002.
