Already a hit across the UK, The Interesting Thoughts of Edward Monkton brand is now moving into the US, with The Sharpe Company on board to handle the property.

The US licensing programme is already off to a strong start, with a range of greetings cards from Recycled Greetings due to roll out in Target in June and Wal-mart later in the year.

Andrews McMeel publishes a line of gift books based on Edward Monkton's most popular characters and designs, while Notes & Queries imports and sells the UK greeting card line from the Really Good Card Company.

"Edward Monkton is a wise, witty and inspiring brand and we are pleased to have Sharpe on board as our US representative," said Alicia Davenport, DRi's licensing director. "The property is hugely versatile and offers a wealth of licensing opportunities as it appeals to male and female consumers of all ages."

Sharpe will be showcasing the brand on its booth at Licensing International next month (1681).
