Artificial Life kicks off with Borussia Dortmund

Company to produce a football game for mobile devices based on the current team.

Mobile company Artificial Life has inked a licensing agreement with German football club Borussia Dortmund to produce a mobile game based on the current team.

Borussia Dortmund - one of the most successful football teams in Germany - currently attracts over 80,000 fans per game on average. The mobile game will feature the likenesses of all current team members, along with various statistics.

The release is currently penciled in for the third quarter of 2009, around the start of the new 09/10 football season.

"Borussia Dortmund is proud to cooperate with Artificial Life, an experienced partner in the growing mobile market," said CEO of merchandising, Matthias Zerber.

Eberhard Schoneburg, Artificial Life's CEO, added: "Borussia Dortmund is a very successful soccer club in Germany with a huge loyal fanbase spanning many generations. It's an honour to work with Borussia to offer an exclusive and high quality soccer experience on mobile to their fans."
