Asterix gets a new Benelux agent

Famous animated Gaul hero Asterix has got a new agent to represent him in Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg. Rights holder Les Editions Albert René has appointed local specialists License Connection.

Daphne Kellerman, CEO of License Connection, says: “Asterix is a beautiful classic character which has a lot of potential of licensed products. I am thrilled that Les Editions Albert René appointed License Connection and looking forward to work closely together with our new partners.”

In a statement, Les Editions Albert René said it was "very proud to work closely together with License Connection to develop a range of quality products in the Benelux."

License Connection’s other brands include Discovery Channel, Animal Planet, Peppa and Cut the Rope.

To date 19 million copies of 34 Asterix books have been sold in the Benelux.
