The Walt Disney Company has confirmed that the studio will release “at least” three Star Wars spin off movies alongside its upcoming main trilogy.
Rumours and unconfirmed reports of movie spin-offs have been abound in the months since the studio acquired LucasFilm for $4.4 billion in 2013.
The rumours have now been confirmed by Disney CEO Bob Iger who revealed that there are “at least” three Star Wars movie spin offs in the works.
While stories and concepts still remain unknown, speculation is already rife and LucasFilm producer Kathleen Kennedy has hinted that these solo films wouldn’t tie in to narrative of the main trilogy .
Indie Wire reports mutterings of a young Han Solo movie, a Boba Fett movie, a Yoda movie and a Jedi Knights adventure movie story from director Zack Snyder.
However, none have been confirmed or denied as Iger’s statement marks the first official acknowledgement of a Star Wars spin off movie series.
