Atlantyca Entertainment is expanding its copyright exchange initiatives in China with the opening of an office in Beijing.

Regional manager Shaohua Wang, who was previously based in Milan, will manage the day to day operations for new business development activities, with a primary focus in publishing and translation rights internationally.

One of the company's first endeavors in China will be to represent and seek agreements for translation rights, as a literary agent, to a variety of children's book titles from Italian publishers.

The firm has recently secured five initial translation rights contracts.

"This has been an objective of ours for a long time and a dream of Pietro Marrietti's, our chairman, for many years," said Claudia Mazzucco, Atlantyca CEO. "Asia is a burgeoning market and our recent experience in partnering with 21st Century Publishing to publish 60 titles of the Geronimo Stilton book series introduced us to the enormous potential China has to offer."
