BAFTA nominations revealed for kids' awards

Chapman, Aardman, Disney, Fox and Ragdoll all up for gongs at ceremony later this month.

The nominations for the EA British Academy Children's Awards 2008 have been revealed.

The accolades represent the best in children's productions in film, television and online. This year's ceremony will take place on Sunday November 30th, with the winners decided via voting by BAFTA members and industry experts. Children will also be able to make their voices heard in the BAFTA Kids' Vote.

Chapman Entertainment has received two nominations - in the Best Independent Production Company category, where it will compete with Ragdoll, The Foundation and Darrall MacQueen, and Best Pre-School Animation for Roary the Racing Car.

Contender's Peppa Pig, Little Princess from TV-Loonland and Charlie & Lola from Cbeebies/Tiger Aspect are competing in the same category.

In the Animation category, Charlie & Lola will go up against Aardman's Shaun the Sheep, Skunk Fu (CBBC/Galleon/Cake) and Eliot Kid (Samka & Safari de Ville).

CBBC, Cbeebies, Nickelodeon UK and Nick Jr will compete in the Channel of the Year category, while Horton Hears A Who (Fox), Ratatouille (Pixar/Disney), Stardust (Paramount) and Wall-E (Pixar/Disney) will contest the Feature Film category.

Elsewhere, iCarly (Nickelodeon), LazyTown, Yo Gabba Gabba (RDF), In The Night Garden (BBC/Ragdoll) and Lego Batman: The Videogame (TT Games) are all nominated.
