Just ahead of next week's MIPTV, Nelvana Enterprises has revealed that its Bakugan property is ready to air internationally across Cartoon Network channels.
The series is aimed at six to 11 year-old boys and is already a hit - both in terms of broadcast and consumer products - in Japan and Canada. It premiered on Cartoon Network in the US in February.
Under the new agreement, the series is available for broadcast on CN channels in the UK, Europe (excluding Spain), Africa, the Middle East, Australia, New Zealand, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Nepal and Bhutan.
Launch dates in specific territories will be revealed in the coming months.
"Bakugan is creating a lot of excitement in both the broadcast and consumer products arenas," said Doug Murphy, president at Nelvana. "It is poised to be the breakout boys' action property of 2008 as it begins to air on Cartoon Network internationally."
Bakugan is a co-production from Nelvana Enterprises, Spin Master, Sega Toys, TMS Entertainment, Japan Vistec and Sega Corporation, with animation by Japan Vistec and TMS Entertainment.
