Bandai is to continue in its role as master toy partner for the Power Rangers brand, developing a line to coincide with the new episodes due to air in 2011.

It was revealed last week that the worldwide brand rights to Power Rangers had returned to the original franchise developer, Haim Saban.

Bandai will continue to develop and manufacture the toys in America and Europe. The lines will complement the new-look TV series, with fresh episodes set to air on Nickelodeon from 2011.

In addition, D3Publisher will be producing video games for the brand.

"Bandai America is committed to developing innovative toys that will reignite the Power Rangers brand as it embarks upon its third decade of pop culture dominance," said Masayuki Matsuo, chairman and CEO at Bandai.

Elie Dekel, MD of Saban Brands, added: "It is only natural that as Power Rangers return to its original home with Saban, the toy licence remains with Bandai America. We are confident this reignited partnership will produce continued success and introduce the Power Rangers to a new generation of kids."
