Battersea Dogs & Cats Home has secured a new deal with Random House Children's Books.
The agreement extends the relationship between the animal charity and the publisher, which already publishes the Home's Young Fiction series. Random House will now add colour picture books and activity/sticker books to its portfolio. Both will be written and illustrated for pre-school children.
The Home's other publishing partners include Penguin - which will be rolling out a collection of adult non-fiction true life Battersea stories in early 2014 - and Octopus Publishing, which will launch the Battersea Dogs & Cats Home Guide to Choosing the Best Dog For You.
"We are thrilled to extend our relationship with Random House and are looking forward to working on this exciting new series for young children, especially as royalties from sales will support Battersea in its work of caring for thousands of lost, unwanted and abandoned dogs and cats every year," said Lucy McCredie, licensing consultant for the Home.
