BBC Worldwide is preparing for a busy year for its Doctor Who brand - kicking off by unveiling a new deal with Character Options.
The agreement with the firm's new Construction division will see a new Character Building range introduced.
The line will include micro-figures, brought to life with sculpted facial features, and play-sets tailored to Doctor Who. Distinctive to the Character Building range will be the use of texture on some of the building blocks, which will be a key feature when it comes to fans recreating each environment.
The full collection will be displayed at Toy Fair (January 25th to 27th) with the first products set for release in the spring.
"We are delighted to build on our existing relationship with Character Options," said Richard Hollis, head of UK licensing at BBC Worldwide. "This new venture offers the perfect play pattern for Doctor Who fans and opens up a fascinating and innovative genre."
Meanwhile, February will see the Doctor Who Experience open at London's Olympia. Running until November, it will have capacity for a million visitors over the duration, with an on-site shop selling bespoke Experience items.
