BBC Top Gear Magazine celebrates 20th anniversary

BBC Top Gear magazine is celebrating its 20th anniversary with a bumper special edition issue alongside 'its best advertising performance in two years.'

The special issue will feature the top 50 cars of the last 20 years, naming the Bugatti Veyron as the greatest, alongside a round up of the team's most ambitious road trips and a host of untold secrets.

The magazine will also offer readers the chance to win the BBC Top Gear Magazine's Car of the Year - a brand new Toyota GT86, worth £24,995.

Meanwhile, the magazine's contract publisher, Immediate Media Co, reports that the celebratory October issue is its most successful issue for advertising since November 2011 with a 110 per cent year on year uplift.

Advertising client in the current issue include, SEAT, BMW, Rolex and L'Oreal.

Publisher Simon Carrington, said: "BBC Top Gear magazine is a remarkable success story and the team has pulled out all the stops with this issue, with some great content, our best ever competition prize and an impressive upswing in advertising.

"Since its launch in 1993, BBC Top Gear magazine has sold over 44 million magazines in the UK, with a further 22 million international edition copies printed in 31 countries around the world, translated in 20 languages.

"as well as crossing boundaries internationally the future looks bright with the interactive iPad version smashing all targets. It now tops the Apple new stand as the most popular motoring app in the UK, and second most popular in the US."

The October issue of BBC Top Gear magazine is on sale now, priced at £4.99, including a 51 page 20th anniversary special.
