Turner CN Enterprises has inked a deal with UK family theme park, Drayton Manor, which will see the opening of a branded Cartoon Network area, set to include Europe’s first Ben 10 Roller Coaster.
Opening in Easter 2011, the Ben 10 roller coaster ride is on course to be the key attraction at the Tamworth-based theme park, visited by over 1.2 million families each year.
Ben 10 fans will be immersed in their hero’s world before they get on the ride, with a host of details currently being worked up and due to be unveiled closer to launch.
Adding to the immersive Cartoon Network experience, will be a fully branded restaurant and a retail outlet that will sell Ben 10 merchandise and products relating to other shows on the kids’ channel.
Products will be sourced from existing licences and Turner CN Enterprises will also be introducing a range of merchandise that will be exclusive to Drayton Manor.
Turner CN Enterprises UK licensing director Graham Saltmarsh said: “We’re thrilled to be launching a Ben 10 roller coaster ride in the UK, which quite literally is set to take the brand to new heights.
"It’s very much in line with the action and excitement that fans associate with their hero and a fantastic profile-raising event which enables us to create another touch point for Ben 10 fans to interact with their favourite character.”
Colin Bryan, MD of Drayton Manor Theme Park, commented: “Drayton Manor first opened to the public in 1950. Over the past 61 years we have always invested in first class rides and attractions to ensure our visitors have the best possible day out.
"I am confident that this new Ben 10 themed roller coaster will be an amazing and popular addition to the park.”
