ITV Worldwide has unveiled plans which would see its exploitation, merchandising and licensing divisions merged into one unified business.
If agreed, Granada International and Granada Ventures will merge later this spring into a single entity.
The business would continue to be led by Peter Iacono, who recently joined ITV from Sony Pictures in the US, reporting to Dawn Airey, MD of ITV Global Content.
The proposed restructure would create a unified business team and distinguish ITV from most other global distributors by creating the new position of commercial brand director, ITV Worldwide, with strengthened brand and product development teams reporting into the director.
The commercial brand director will have key responsibility for 360 degree exploitation of content across multiple platforms and territories.
MD of Granada International - Nadine Nohr - announced her departue earlier this week.
"The merger makes real sense and demonstrates how serious we are about meeting our growth targets for this business," said Airey. "We are creating a bigger, better and more effective structure to allow us to grow our global content businesses further and faster."
