Having attracted some big audiences on GMTV's Toonattik last year, BKN's Dork Hunters from Outer Space has now been snapped up by Jetix UK.
In 2008, the animated comedy series was the second most popular show among boys aged four to nine, achieving audience share in excess of 38 per cent on GMTV.
In addition, it ranked as the number two show in terms of share across all kids aged four to 15 years in November 2008 (BARB Live Data).
Series one will now debut on Jetix in the spring, followed by series two late in 2009, following the UK premiere on Toonattik.
Dominic Gardiner, Jetix UK director of programming, said: "We're constantly on the look out for high quality comedy animation. The lead characters in Dork Hunters are both funny and sporty, qualities we believe our audience can relate to."
As well as debuting on Jetix, Dork Hunters will continue to be a regular feature in GMTV's schedule and is currently being repeated on Action Stations (weekdays on GMTV2 and simulcast on CITV around 6.30am).
"Having our series on multiple channels in the UK is a great position to be in," said Nicola Andrews, MD of BKN New Media. "We've always been quietly confident that Dork Hunters would do well. The ratings on GMTV speak for themselves and we now eagerly await the same success on Jetix this spring."
