Chapman Entertainment's Fifi and the Flowertots is set to return with a new series, commissioned by Five's Milkshake and Nick Jr it was revealed this morning.
Due to air in 2009, the third series will introduce two brand new characters, Buttercup and Daisy, to the existing Flowertot line-up. Fifi Forget-Me-Not's younger twin cousins will provide a wide-eyed view of Flowertot Garden and their storylines will lend an added younger dimension to the series.
Already in production, the new Fifi series will be the first to be produced at Chapman Entertainment's newly opened studios in Altrincham. Actress Jane Horrocks will be reprising her role as the voice of Fifi and Primrose.
The new commission means there will now be a total of 117 episodes of the series, which launched on Milkshake and Nick Jr back in 2005.
"Fifi has secured a place in young girls' hearts around the world and with this new commission we will continue to deliver high quality British-made programming that young children everywhere can enjoy," said Greg Lynn, MD of Chapman.
Target Entertainment will continue to represent the TV distribution of the series in all international territories, except North America and Japan which are handled by Hit Entertainment.
