DHX Licensing, the dedicated L&M arm of DHX Media, has signed up licensing agents to represent a number of its TV-based properties in South East and East Asia, South America and Canada.
The new division, launched to exploit content internationally from DHX’s three production subsidiaries, DECODE Entertainment, Halifax Film and Studio B Productions and third party IP owners, has signed the deals across its slate of animation and live action including pre-school series Poppetstown, Animal Mechanicals, Franny’s Feet and Bo on the Go, as well as teen-targeted The Latest Buzz.
The new deals include an agreement with Empire Inter-Merchandising Corporation, brokered by Charles Day of The Sharpe Company, to represent licensing and merchandising rights to Animal Mechanicals, Franny’s Feet and Bo on the Go for Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Hong Kong, China and Taiwan.
In further deals, The Sharpe Company has brokered a deal in Korea with Asiana for Poppetstown, while DHX Licensing has appointed Asiana as Korean agent for Animal Mechanicals, with IMC representing the latter for South America. In Canada, DHX Licensing has signed up the Licensing Shop CPLG for The Latest Buzz.
The Sharpe Company is worldwide licensing agent for Animal Mechanicals, Bo on the GO! and Franny’s Feet.
