BLE 2010: Creative Rights scores two key deals

Deal to revive the Look and Learn brand; new Scholastic partnership

The Creative Rights Agency has announced two new business partnerships at Brand Licensing Europe.

The first gives the firm UK licensing rights for non-fiction brands Horrible Histories, Horrible Science and Clifford the Big Red Dog – as part of Creative Rights’ partnership with Scholastic UK and its US entertainment division, Scholastic Media.

The second sees Creative Rights take on the licensing rights to Look and Learn, a popular weekly magazine that ran between 1962 and 1982. Creative Rights, which will position Look and Learn as a heritage nostalgia brand, has an artwork library of over 10,000 images to draw from.

“I’m delighted to be working on such powerful brands,” said Creative Rights’ Richard Scrivener (pictured).

“There are copies of Horrible Histories and Horrible Science in every home, school and library in the country. And both have gained unique acceptance with children, parents and teachers.”
