Nickelodeon Consumer Products has announced a series of new deals and licensing renewals for its key franchises SpongeBob SquarePants and Dora the Explorer.

In a move that could further cement SpongeBob SquarePants’ viability as a key accessory and toy brand, Nickelodeon has partnered with International Greetings for a two year deal starting January 2011 to produce a full range of SpongeBob SquarePants stationery.

Meanwhile, Instant Gifts will expand its SpongeBob SquarePants gift range in a deal term that’s been extended to March 2011. Instant Gifts is preparing for the launch of what it hopes will be the next big craze to sweep the nation; novelty shaped elastic bands, branded Krazy Bands, which is set for distribution across independent gift channels.

And Vogue has signed a two year renewal deal for its range of SpongeBob SquarePants and Dora the Explorer drinkware, tableware, lunchware, storage and lighting.

Dora the Explorer will also expand its product remit, with new stationery deals in place.

“It’s fantastic that we’ve been able to secure these deals and renewals with key licensees in the run up to Brand Licensing Europe,” said Trudi Hayward, Nickelodeon Consumer Products’ newly appointed VP for UK and Australia.

“They all offer exciting developments in established category areas and show that interest in our evergreen properties is as strong as ever.”
