BLE 2010: Zodiak Rights unveils new IP at show

Qpiz touted as a global multiplatform brand aimed at teenage girls

Zodiak Rights has chosen Brand Licensing Europe to launch its latest international multiplatform property aim at young teen girls.

Known as Qpiz, the new IP is based on an original concept created at Neo Network, Zodiak Media Group’s Italy-based interactive and digital arm. |

The brand is beginning life on screen and online, with a series of animated shorts aired on Italian TV, as well as a newly launched online portal. The website features games, quizzes, links to social networking sites.

“Qpiz has been a truly multiplatform concept from the very beginning,” said Neo Network kids entertainment director Cristina Fiumara.

“We felt that much of the web and on-line game world was focused at boys and we wanted to extend this into the girls’ space. Qpiz appeals to girls, giving them the opportunity to move seamlessly from TV to books, to online and back to magazines; to communicate with their friends, make new ones and have fun across all kinds of games and cool applications.,” Christina added.

“As well as being multiplatform Qpiz is a multi-cultural and international brand which we have high hopes for at launch.”

The brand will also be present as strips in popular teen magazines in Italy, while Zodiak Rights has struck a deal for four book-publishing deals.

Zodiak Rights hopes the brand will also pick up interest from young boys too.
