BLE 2011: Playmates reveals key plans for Ninja Turtles

Marketing and distribution partners appointed in major territories; toy line launching autumn 2012.

Playmates Toys has hired a number of marketing and distribution partners across key international markets for its new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles range.

Currently in production at the Nickelodeon Animation Studio in Burbank, Calif., the show is set to air in autumn 2012, with a feature film to follow from Paramount Pictures.

The line is scheduled to launch in autumn 2012 in the US and Canada to coincide with the premiere of the new CG-animated series from Nickelodeon and will be available in most international markets in 2013. Playmates’ US launch of the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles toy line will coincide with the debut of the Nickelodeon series.

Marketing and distribution partners appointed for the respective territories are: Headstart (Australia); Spin Master (Canada); European countries including Belgium, France, Greece, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, Turkey, the United Kingdom go to the Giochi Preziosi Group; Germany, Austria, Switzerland will be handled by Stadlbauer; Middle East and North Africa region have been given to Toy Triangle; Planet Fun (New Zealand); Concentra (Portugal); Gulliver (Russia) and Prima Toys (South Africa).
