BLE 2012: Furby's return boosted by licensing programme

Plush, apparel, home decor, back-to-school and more to hit European retailers alongside the toy this autumn.

Hasbro has announced that a wide range of Furby consumer products will be supporting the return of its electronic furry friend this autumn.

In apparel and accessories, partners include Smith & Brooks, TV Mania, ATM, Trademark, Smyk, E plus M, Aventure Diffusion, Quality Licensing Product; Home décor licensees are Character World and Worlds Apart; Amscan will be making partyware, plush will be made by Play by Play (Famosa) and Trademark, Sportandem have signed up for back-to-school.

The first wave of merchandise is set to arrive at retail in the UK, Spain, Portugal, France, Poland, Turkey, and Russia.

James Walker, VP of Brand Licensing EMEA at Hasbro, said: “We are extremely excited about the return of Furby and the amazingly fun product lines that licensees have created to capture the essence of the Furby phenomenon. The product range will celebrate the friendship between the personality-packed furry creatures and their owners.”
