Featuring bejewelled elephants, painted ponies and colourful songbirds, One Big Happy Family is her new children’s collection. Designed for youngsters from three upwards, it has togetherness as its theme and Edwards will translate perfectly into t-shirts, stationery apparel and the wider gift market.
Edwards' delicate new sets of cards entitled The Blewbury Flora and Vegelicious are sister collections, one featuring photographs of the native flora and fauna of the Oxfordshire village where Ann lives, and the second focusing on the fruit, vegetables and herbs that fill neighbouring country gardens and fields.
Each card features a personal memoir from Edwards detailing where and when the featured flowers or vegetables were picked, together with notes on their history and use – combining to make what she calls a 21st Century version of Country Diary of an Edwardian Lady.
Edwards said: “I’m really excited about my new work. They will be perfect for kitchenware and tableware collections. I’ll also be showing products featuring my much-loved and very popular range of humorous animal characters, called The Family Pets, which has been successfully licensed, including coasters, aprons, mugs and stationery.”
Both ranges are photographed against a simple black background, making a perfect product to licence for kitchenware and tableware collections.
Edwards will be on the stand throughout the show, when she will be happy to sign her work and talk in more detail about her latest collections.
Edwards has been painting and exhibiting since 1994. Her range of dog and cat characters, known as The Family Pets, is extremely popular and the adventures of Scotty, Fat Cat, Nipper, Rags, Rosie and Amy are now exported worldwide on a wide range of giftware and greetings cards.
Edwards also plans to exhibit at Surtex next year.
