The Bright Group International (495) will be exhibiting five new properties at BLE. While one has a publishing deal in place, the rest are open to new deals in a number of categories.
The new properties include Swamp Life, Cowboy Carl, The Boglysaurus, Belle at Butterfly High and Barry the Fish with Fingers.
BGI started life six years ago as the Bright Agency, a specialist children’s illustration agency, which rapidly signed deals with major names such as Harrods, Usborne and Random House. The firm has since established a literary agency, The Bright Academy, and is building on the breadth of knowledge and experience within the group to create children’s content and extend this along various commercial channels.
At Brand Licensing Europe, BGI is looking to develop new and innovative content for publishing, but also with the strength and potential to be licensed across a whole range of different sectors, including animation, TV and merchandise.
The company decided to exhibit at BLE to build contacts and awareness among the industry, as well as to communicate what it has done and achieved in the past and how it is looking to expand and diversify in the future.
Until now, Bright has worked in the background representing and supplying artists to the publishing industry, but is now using the experience and knowledge it has developed to launch its own children's characters/properties and, eventually, brands.
The firm’s team of publishing agents will also be on hand to advise on how established brands into publishing.
